Keynote title: Integration of Geophysics and Geology in interpretation – an all too often distant frontier in minerals exploration

Branko Corner graduated at the University of the Witwatersrand with a BSc majoring in geology and physics, and with an MSc and PhD in Geophysics.
He served as Head of the Department of Geophysics at Wits University for 12 years, and has an additional 35 years of experience in the minerals industry, specialising in the interpretation of airborne and ground geophysical data. Branko has presented applied geophysics courses annually, for a period of over 20 years, at the Universities of Rhodes and Namibia, and continues to do so to industry geologists. He has authored 22 refereed publications and 36 Conference proceedings. He played a pivotal role in the discovery of the Otjikoto gold deposit, and is a recipient of the Henno Martin Memorial Medal in recognition of his outstanding contribution towards furthering the understanding of Namibian geology.
