Biography

Gavin has a BSc Honours degree, with dual majors in Geology and Geophysics, from Wits. He has 32 years of field experience in the mineral exploration industry, specialising in geophysics. He has worked mainly across Africa but also globally, and is a partner in a ground geophysics and consulting company, Geofocus (Pty) Ltd, with Bjorn Havemann. They currently have a 3-pronged approach to the geophysics business, being geotechnical geophysical services, minerals exploration surveys, and pure consulting work which often involves minerals targeting and the geological interpretation of large geophysical datasets.
