Biography
G.R.J. Cooper is a Professor of Geophysics at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. His areas of research include potential fields, image and signal processing, seismic attributes and nuclear physics. He is currently an Associate Editor for the E.A.G.E., the A.S.E.G., the I.A.M.G, and the A.J.G., and constantly reviews papers for all the major journals. He has published more than 120 papers in international journals, and also holds five patents. Algorithms that he has developed have been implemented by various commercial geophysical companies. He was the President of the S.A. Geophysical Association from 1997-98, editor of its newsletter for more than a decade, and built its first website.
