BIOGRAPHY

G.R.J. Cooper is a Professor of  Geophysics at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. His areas of research include potential fields, image and signal processing, seismic attributes and nuclear physics. He is currently an Associate Editor of the journals Geophysical Prospecting, Near Surface Geophysics, Exploration Geophysics, Computers & Geosciences, and the Arabian Journal of Geoscience, and constantly reviews papers for all the major journals. He has published more than 120 papers in international journals, and also holds five patents. Algorithms that he has developed have been  implemented by various commercial geophysical companies. He was the President of the S.A. Geophysical Association from 1997-98.
