BIOGRAPHY

Bruce Engelsman is a Registered Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) and a Fellow of the South African Institute of Civil Engineers (SAICE) Geotechnical Division.  Bruce has worked in the field of Civil Geotechnics for 32 years across the Infrastructure, Mining, Power and Industrial sectors.  He is the lead Geotechnical Engineer on Eskom’s Nuclear Power Site Licensing initiative and currently holds the position of Engineer on Record at the Mogalakwena Tailings facilities.  His experience covers both soil and rock mechanics, and he has a particular interest in the geometry of subsurface geotechnical profiles, having delivered the SAICE 2025 Geotechnical Lecture on this topic.
