BIOGRAPHY
Nicolás Leiva is Head of Artificial Intelligence at Xcalibur Smart Mapping, where he leads the AI department across the company’s global geophysical operations spanning six continents. With over nine years of experience building and deploying AI solutions in production environments, he has designed and delivered systems for geophysical data processing (including anomaly detection, spectral super-resolution, and satellite image classification) achieving up to 97% reductions in manual analysis time and ROI figures exceeding 1,000%. He is also a core contributor to XENAI, Xcalibur’s AI-powered Earth Intelligence platform, and a recognised voice on the practical and strategic implications of AI for the geosciences industry. Prior to joining Xcalibur, Nicolás led AI teams in the energy, retail, and banking sectors, and served as an Artificial Intelligence professor at the National Technological University of Argentina. He holds a degree in Information Systems Engineering and an Executive MBA from ESIC Business School, Madrid.
